Philosophy & Basics
League Philosophy
This league is designed for fun, camaraderie, exercise, and friendly competition. Good sportsmanship is expected at all times. Umpire decisions are final. Let's keep it light, safe, and fun!
Game Basics
- Game Length: 7 innings
- Teams: 10 players in the field. If you have 9 or fewer, you must get a sub approved by the opposing captain.
- Can't get a sub? A kid can catch (live for foul balls and tips), but they will not bat.
- Batting Lineup: Everyone bats, even if rotating in/out on defense.
Time
- Grace Period: 15 minutes after scheduled start.
Equipment & Fielding
Equipment
- Bats: USA or ASA approved slowpitch bats only — no baseball bats.
- Balls: 12" slowpitch softballs, .52 COR / 300 compression.
- Cleats: No metal cleats. No metal Turf shoes or molded cleats only.
- Uniforms: Matching shirts encouraged but not mandatory.
Fielding & Substitutions
- Infield Fly Rule: Not in effect
- Shifting: Standard positions encouraged.
Base Running
Base Running
- No leading off or stealing. Prohibited
- Run on swing only.
- Courtesy Runner: Only if needed — please don't abuse it. Must be the last out.
- Tagging up: Permitted from 3rd base only. 3rd only
- Overthrow Rule (non-3rd bases): If the defense tries to get a runner out on any base other than 3rd and the ball is overthrown, the player may tag the base and advance one base.
- Slide or Avoid Rule: Must slide or give up at home if there's a play. Safety rule
Conduct & Game Management
Umpires & Conduct
- Umpires: 1 umpire per game. All decisions are final.
- No arguing balls/strikes. Zero tolerance
- Unsportsmanlike conduct: Warning → Ejection → Suspension
- Alcohol: Umpire has discretion to remove you from the game. Enjoy responsibly — kids come to watch, let's set the right example.
Tie Games
- If a game is tied after 7 innings, we place a player on second base to start the extra inning, Must be the last player to get out the prevoius inning. Ghost runner
Standings & Playoffs
Standings & Playoffs
- Standings: Determined by Run Differential. Run Diff
- Special case: For the team you play twice, both scores are averaged and count as one game.
- Tiebreakers: 1) Run Differential · 2) Head-to-Head
- Playoffs: Single-elimination format. Single Elim
✨ Spirit of the Game
This is a fun-first league. Be competitive, but respectful. Trash talk is fine if it's friendly and mutual. No egos, no fights — just good times and close calls.
